Kadra · Last updated: 31 August 2026

In short: Kadra has no server, no account and no sign-up, and nothing read from your car ever leaves your phone. The map is the one exception: while the map is on, your phone's location is sent to Google to draw the map and calculate routes. Turn the map off and Kadra runs with zero network traffic.

What we collect

Kadra collects nothing on its own behalf. There is no server, no database and no account system. You do not register, and you never enter an email address or a password. The app asks for nothing that identifies you and sends nothing anywhere.

The map and navigation, however, are powered by the Google Navigation SDK, and Google collects data on its own behalf. The data types we declare in the App Privacy section of our App Store product page — location, device identifier, crash and performance data, product interaction — come from that SDK, not from Kadra. See Google Navigation SDK below.

What is read from your car

Kadra connects directly to your car over Bluetooth Low Energy and reads: speed, power, battery state, range, charging state, cabin temperature, climate settings, tyre pressures and the car's own reported position.

This information is held only in your phone's memory and drawn on the screen. It is not sent to any server, it is not written to any file, and it is gone when the app closes.

Kadra connects to the car with a read-only role. It cannot unlock doors, drive the car or change any setting.

Location

Kadra works with two different locations, and they are not the same thing:

The app uses background location only while turn-by-turn guidance is active — so that voice and visual directions can continue if you lock the phone or switch apps mid-journey. When no guidance is running, location is not used in the background.

Turn the map off in Settings and location is not used at all.

Network use

The app's only network traffic is the map: Google map tiles, destination search and navigation. No other network request is made — vehicle data is never sent anywhere.

Turn the map off in Settings and Kadra runs with zero network traffic. You can verify this yourself: turn the map off, put your phone in airplane mode, and the dashboard keeps working.

Google Navigation SDK

The map, destination search and turn-by-turn navigation are provided by Google's Navigation SDK. With the map enabled, Google's own terms and conditions dialog is shown once on your first destination selection; guidance begins once you accept it.

This SDK operates as Google's own service and collects data on its own behalf. How Google handles that data is governed by its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Kadra does not have access to that data and keeps no copy of it.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

Kadra has no analytics tool, advertising network or tracking SDK of its own. It does not read your advertising identifier and does not follow you across apps or websites, which is why the "Tracking" declaration on the App Store is empty.

The only third-party component in the app is the Google Navigation SDK described above, and it is active only while the map is on.

What is stored on your phone

Deleting the app removes all of it from your phone.

Subscription

The Kadra Pro subscription is purchased through Apple, using the App Store's own purchase system. Kadra never sees or stores your payment details; they are shared only with Apple. Whether your subscription is active is verified on your device by Apple.

Children

Kadra is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, it is updated on this page and the date above is refreshed.
